Peter and St. Peter's Basilica, just a short walk from the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
It's Your's to See on Foot:
There are two words which best describe Hotel Amalia – location and location. Why? Because the centre of Rome is all about site seeing on foot. As you leave the great doors of Hotel Amalia, stroll along Via Germanico and across Via Leone IV to arrive at the entrance to the Vatican Museums where you will find Michealangelo’s fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Or walk 5 minutes up Via Ottaviano to the Vatican and visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the tombs of the Popes. Just inside the doors, you will find Michealangelo’s “Pieta”. (Tip: the Vatican Piazza is a magical place to visit at night.)
From the Vatican walk 10 minutes to Castel Sant’Angelo and then across the Tibre River into the old quarter of Rome. Exploring the old quarter, you will find the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and so much more. On your travels, stop for an Italian gelato and lunch in one of the marvelous piazza’s while soaking in the visions of Bernini statues and Roman architecture.
Move along Via del Corso arriving at Piazza Venezia, Fori Imperiali e the Colosseum. Finish your day with dinner in the very quaint, antique Trastevere Quarter. Trastevere has an original ancient Roman ambience where you will dine outdoors under moonlight and stars lulled by the soft musical strains of Italian violinists. Simply enchanting!

What’s On: Rome's galleries, cultural, sporting and entertainment events are nearby. There are numerous events throughout the city that you will want to see during your stay in Roma. Auditorium Parco della Musica is fast becoming the venue for musical events. Sports fans will find Hotel Amalia 5 minutes by transport to the Olympic Stadium at Foro Italico. Shopping and Dining: The Amalia Hotel is at the heart of via Cola di Rienzo, one of the best known streets in Rome for shopping. The area is also rich in restaurants and bars where you can spend a pleasant evening. Rome's historic centre is a pleasant 20-minute stroll across the Tevere River. Here you will find an evening of good restaurants, trendy bars and nightclubs where you can mingle with up and coming Italian business leaders, artists and politicians. Ten minutes along and you will reach the Spanish Steps or you can take the Metropolitana (3rd stop from Hotel Amalia).
